💡 Core values are the behaviors and skills that we value in fellow Dusketeers.
At Dusk, we let our core values drive our actions and endeavors. We believe that keeping our behaviours consistent with our values give us the best chance of achieving success for many generations of technology and people.
Because of this strong belief, rather than nice-sounding characteristics with no practical application, more than technical skills, we let the adherence to the core values drive the decisions about who gets rewarded, promoted, or dismissed.
Our values are all important, but the order with which they are presented is meaningful.
We meet every task, every conversation, and every learning opportunity with honesty and the desire to do what is right. It is only through the individual integrity of each team member that we are able to uphold our reputation of being a business that has integrity. Only with a strong moral compass we can gain the trust and respect from our prospects, and the market in general. Especially since Dusk operates in a market that is riddled with bad actors, and questionable propositions.
Dusk has been created by a group of people interested in releasing decentralized software together. We're committed to create a strong culture of helping one another to learn, overcome challenges, and grow. Within the organization, everybody is encouraged to communicate with anyone else, asking for support, offering help, sharing knowledge. Being a remote first organization, communication is also a necessity and our number one priority.
We have an irresistible urge to constantly innovate. We use out-of-the-box thinking, inventiveness and creativity to conjure unexpected solutions to seemingly insurmountable problems.
We are professionals with the knowledge and competence to take ownership of our tasks from ideation to delivery, without forgetting prioritization, execution, and quality control.
We practice open and honest communication with each others, with our community, with our prospects. Keep in mind that we all make mistakes. It’s going to happen. So we might as well accept this simple truth and talk about our mistakes openly. It will create the opportunity for a long-term, trusting relationship with out community and within the team.
☀️ We abide by the transparency principle. We strive to make all info accessible to every member. Well-documented processes, and forum-based deliberation are just a few ways we achieve this.
Knowledge-sharing plays a key role in all aspects of our journey. Knowledge can and must be shared using every single tool in our daily activities. From filing issues, to documenting code, hosting meetings, performing code-reviews, interacting on social media, or recording a presentation.
We are driven by a burning desire to fill gaps in our knowledge, and an inquisitive way of reasoning that includes exploration, investigation and learning.
We are willing to take risks. Breakthroughs happen through change, and change always carries some risks. If we hunker down and wait it out, more audacious projects will innovate right by us. The time to execute on our vision is now, and we must ignite it with the audacity of continuously pushing the boundary of our comfort zone.
